NITTO FR501 Flame-Retardant Double-Coated Tape

NITTO FR501 is a flame-retardant double-coated adhesive tape built on a non-woven fabric substrate, coated on both sides with flame-retardant acrylic adhesive. The tape thickness is 0.1 mm (excluding the release liner) and the standard size is 1200 mm x 50 m. FR501 is approved to the UL94 VTM-0 flammability standard (File No. E52859) and contains no halogen-based or antimony-based flame retardants, with minimal VOC emission, meeting both flame-safety and environmental requirements.

In terms of adhesion, FR501 delivers 17 N/20 mm 180-degree peel strength on stainless steel plate and offers stable bonding to aluminium, ABS, PC, PET and urethane foam. It performs reliably over a temperature range from -30 degrees C to 80 degrees C, and adheres well to paper, paperboard and other flame-retardant materials, suitable for both automated lamination and manual assembly.

FR501 is widely used for interior components of automobiles, train cars and airplanes, as well as for internal parts of office equipment and household appliances. Where flame retardancy, insulation and vibration damping are required together, it is a strong upgrade over standard double-coated tapes.
